I captured this lovely encounter of Venus and Saturn with the moon at the El Sauce Observatory (Río Hurtado, Chile). At the time the image was taken, the moon was only 27 hours and 51 minutes old. It had an altitude of 1.4° and 2% of its disk was illuminated. If you look closely, you can detect some faint features of the earthshine. Venus was shining very brightly, which made identifying Saturn with the naked eye a bit of a challenge.
