Color and contrast enhancements.
This is approximately one third of the Milky Way arch; the middle section and one of a three image triptych in the works. This image was taken a couple of days after the new moon and the only cloud free night forecast within 5 days either side of a moonless night. The north, west and east skies were still quite cloudy with a few in the southern sky where the Milky Way rises. As you can see, the long strips of cirrus clouds added a contrasting feature underneath the massive green airglow display. So yeah, that works for me. I'm still quite the rookie at astrophotography, less than a year at it and only a dozen or so nights during that time. My post processing skills are still amateurish as well. A challenging, yet rewarding pursuit.
