Nikon D750, with a Tamron 35mm lens, f/1.4, and a Slik Tripod.
I captured 11 images of the Milky Way and then another 9 with the lens cap on. I edited the first 11 images in LIghtroom with minor adjustments. I then exported out those 11 images and the 9 dark images with the lens cap on out to JPGs. I then imported those 20 images into Starry Landscape Stacker to stack the photos to bring out more detail and reduce some of the noise in the photo.
This is the earliest in the year I have ever captured an image of the Milky Way. While it is not the best image I have captured of the Milky Way, I wanted to show that it can be captured early in the season here on the easy coast. This was a 2hour and 10 minute drive from my house to Barnegat, NJ. Photographed the night sky for three hours. left at 5:15am to get back home by 7:30am.
