Image Details:

This is a 2% illuminated, 0ne-day old, Waxing Crescent Moon taken 01/03/2022 in Baton Rouge from the suburbs just 30 min after Sunset when the Moon was only 6 degrees above the SW horizon. The levels were adjusted to darken the sky light of dusk. Moons of this illumination levels are difficult to take unless the sky is just right. This night, the sky was perfectly clear after a passing cold front. Interesting details of the far eastern moon near the terminator can be seen with the low angle lighting of this phase of the Moon..
