Image Details:

Of all the images I captured between 2:50 and 4 AM this morning, I chose this image to post now. It was captured when the eclipse was between 96% and 97% at 2:59 AM . This was when the red shadow was shifting gears. AT 3:02 when the 97% was reached, the 3% lit part of the moon was shaped like a vertical crescent. Before that, as the near total eclipse phase was approaching, it was shaped a tilted crescent as it is now. As the shift happened the two colors of umbra (purple) and penumbra(dark red) moved around like a wave.
