Since the Sun has been more active in the last few months, I have been paying attention to the spaceweatheralerts.com alerts. Yesterday they were coming one after another, so I thought it is time to move. Packed my gear and headed to a place 1.5 hrs away that I thought was high enough and with limited light pollution. So there you have it, the northern lights seen from a latitude of 41.7 degrees N. Note: it looks better as captured by the camera than what I saw with my eyes. Still, it was visible.
