Equipment Details:

Lunt 40mm hydrogen-alpha solar telescope, 2.5x Barlow, and ASI290MM camera - all on a SkyWatcher EQ6R mount.

Post-processing Details:

Best 1000 frames of video stacked with AutoStakkert, sharpness and levels adjusted using IMPPG, final tweaks to image and color added using Photoshop.

Image Details:

Sunspot AR2882, although large, has until now been fairly quiet; however, earlier today AR2882 unleashed a strong M class solar flare and coronal mass ejection that is headed towards Earth! The white area is called plage. Two short filaments are also visible to the left of the sunspot.
