In the hollow opposite my window, a couple of sparrows have the second brood of chicks growing up. While the chicks were small, the parents fed them inside the hollow, and brought only very small insects. When the chicks grew up, during several days the parents fed them sitting on the edge of the hollow and putting inside only their heads with food. At this time, they fed chicks with bigger insects. Today the chicks first appeared at the edge of the hollow, and I could see them for the first time. They open their beaks wide when а parent appears, and usually hide back when the parents fly away for a new portion of food. But sometimes curiosity wins, and the bravest chick sits near the edge of the hollow and looks at the world where they will soon have to live. It looks like there are now three chicks in the hollow (one dead chick was thrown by its mom yesterday). On the shot, dad comes with a green caterpillar.
