A Cumulonimbus capillatus (Latin Capillatus, "hair") is a cumulonimbus cloud with dense cirrus clouds which makes the cloud's top appear to contain hair-like structures. This cloud formation was seen here in Singapore this evening where the sun was setting on the right hand side of this picture. The reflection of the sunset on the cloud gives the cloud an orange hue. This type of cloud is an intermediate stage between cumulonimbus calvus and cumulonimbus incus and capable of producing lightning
