At 9:16 pm yesterday NASA launched NG CRS-14 to the International Space Station (ISS). The Antares capsule is carrying nearly 8000 pounds of supplies and experiments including a zero-gravity toilet.

Significantly more cool than space toilets was watching the launch with a NASA engineer (Glenn Research Center - Cleveland) who is the lead on one of the on-board experiments. The reaction of his young son during the launch made this really special. I agreed to send him photos and he agreed to send me some information on his experiment #nerdmoment

I hate long photo write-ups so sorry about this...
This is a single exposure a few seconds after lift-off. I spent hours trying to figure out the launch trajectory and a public location where I could see the rocket and the moon near each other. Going to this location meant I had to painfully pass up on the initial lift-off (there will be others) and hope for the best. The body of the rocket isn't visible because well, it was dark outside.
