This interesting flower is called "Chichirica" in our local Tagslog dialect.

The Madagascar Periwinkle (Catharanthus Roseus) is a primary source of anti-cancer agents that produces two potent alkaloids (vinblastine and vincrustine) in treating various types of cancer.

It's abundantly found along roadsides mixed with growing weeds and shrubs; sadly neglected and unappreciated by many, while it can also be found gracing some gardens of individuals who are knowledgeable and appreciate not only of its beauty but medicinal benefits as well.
