Image Details:

Only 7 hours past First Quarter and the terminator is already far from the Lunar "V".
The Moon is at -4° libration in longitude. If the libration was +6°, Archimedes crater would still be in darkness!
Libration determines which features are highlighted at any given phase. It also determines which features along the limb are visible.
One degree of libration is approx 20km.
For reference, Archimedes crater is 80km wide.
