With the global lock-down still in effect, the park that Frosty Drew Observatory resides in has been closed to public access. Myself and a fellow team member, James Crouch, set up with only the stars and meteors to keep us company as we captured images of the Lyrids and the Milky Way. I captured this image of 2 Lyrid meteors against the beautiful Milky Way galactic nucleus stretching over Frosty Drew Observatory. The peace full quiet of just nature makes for a surreal environment that is usually bombarded with visitors. Abandoned playground equipment in the distance made for a dystopian type feeling as you can see the empty swings swaying in the wind. As for the Lyrids, the shower was quite impressive this year, with continuous activity, including three occurrences of two meteors at once in the sky.
