I wanted to capture the supermoon rising over a snow covered Mt. Rainier but it rose a bit further north than I would have preferred. Still, it made for a nice image: moonrise over the Cascades. Sunset was at 7:48. This image was captured 3 minutes later at 7:51pm. The light was still good enough to capture the foreground without blowing out the moon and the setting sun was illuminating a beautiful crimson sky behind me which cast a very nice hue in the clear eastern sky.
