The early evenings of February 27 and 28, 2020, featured a close pairing of the waxing crescent moon with the brightest planet, Venus. I look for them in the western twilight shortly after sunset. The moon and Venus rank as the second-brightest and third-brightest celestial objects to light up the sky. The moon and Venus don’t shine by their own light but by reflecting sunlight. It was pleasure to look at these beautiful celestial objects!
