From anywhere on this green Earth (except for Antarctica, which is not green) you can easily locate the Beehive Cluster by triangulation with Castor and Procyon.
I call this the "Bees' Triangle"
Try it! You will find it every time. Provided you have a dark sky. And it's not cloudy.
Right now it appears in the Eastern sky before sunrise.
I like triangulating stuff. I use that a lot in the jungle so I don't get lost. You do not want to get lost in the jungle at night. It's very disconcerting.
