I'm always trying to get away to dark sky country when on vacation. In Winthrop, WA just outside North Cascades National Park, you'll find some perfect star gazing and milky way chasing conditions! It doesn't hurt that there's a chill in the air at 1am and you don't have to fight the insects for some peace and quiet.
