Equipment Details:

Nikon D750, Nikkor 24-120mm zoom

Post-processing Details:

a bit more than usual - color, saturation, vibrance, contrast in order to bring out the very small which is hiding just above clouds and and a still lit horizon from the sun which is below the horizon

Image Details:

I didn't expect to be able to capture the moon at 1.1% and 10 degree separation from the sun. I couldn't see it with my eyes and couldn't see it even when fully zoomed in on my camera viewfinder. At 6:38 the moon was at 2.7 degrees above the horizon and the sun was -7.2 below. With the clouds low on the horizon I was afraid the moon would disappear before it became dark enough to find it. When I checked the photos today - there it was, very faint but visible. It's easily the newest moon I've ever been able to capture.
