These images taken with NASA satellites show the effects of the March 11, 2011 tsunami on Japan’s coastline of the island nation of Japan.
The image on the left was taken on Sept. 5, 2010. The image on the right was taken on March 12, 2011, one day after the 8.9-magnitude earthquake and resulting tsunami struck Japan.
