Devil’s River State Natural Area
August 22, 2020
Devil’s River State Natural Area is located in southwest Texas, far from all cities and most people. Named an International Dark Sky Sanctuary, the natural area is home to a clear spring-fed river, rugged ridges, scenic canyons and brushy banks. Visitors swim, fish and paddle in the river, or hike and bike on lands where ancient native people lived. For solitude and some of the best night skies in Texas, set up camp at one of the drive-up or hike-in primitive sites and marvel at the amazing night sky views.
