Clair Blackburn Memorial Stargazing Park
April 15, 2019
The Clair Blackburn Memorial Stargazing Park is located at the end of Ray Tennant Drive. The region is famous for its dark night skies with zero light pollution – arguably the darkest in the country – and the park features cement pads to set up telescopes, and picnic tables. Monthly star parties are offered from June to October, as well as annual night-time photography workshops. To find the park, “turn by the Tonopah High School and follow the pavement until it turns to dirt road – keep on going straight and you will see it right in front of you.” It is open 24 hours.
