Jeff Masters is director of Meteorology for weatherunderground.com, one of the most popular websites on weather. Dr. Masters has a Ph.D. in meteorology from the University of Michigan. His early career includes teaching weather forecasting to undergraduates at the State University of New York, and he later flew with NOAA’s Hurricane Hunters as a flight meteorologist for NOAA’s Aircraft Operations Center He co-founded the Weather Underground, Inc. in 1995, writing much of the software that processes the raw National Weather Service data used on the weatherunderground.com website.
