Alan Alda has served as the host of PBS’s Scientific American Frontiers for eight seasons. As host, he has traveled the globe to talk with hundred of scientists about their work. Alda is known to Americans as an actor who expresses both his social conscience and his intellect in his work; a five-time Emmy Award winner, he was first made famous by his portrayal of Hawkeye Pierce in the American TV Series M*A*S*H. Alda is also a self-described science buff and an avid fan of cosmology.
