Comet 12 Pons-Brooks is one of the more interesting objects of 2023 and likely to get even better in 2024. The most recent massive outburst may have different results. The devil comet seems to have disappeared and 12P appears to be transitioning to a more conventional comet. Prior passage records from 1884 and 1953 showed an active comet with outbursts but ultimately looking like a conventional comet with a tail. Captured with an 11 inch RASA (iTelescope T68) 17 x 30 sec. The B&W image was converted from color and stretched to better show the small emerging tail.
