SAR arc over the Shenandoah Valley in central Virginia on Sunday evening. This red glowing feature lasted for several hours and was nearly overhead at this latitude. It was briefly visible to the unaided eye as a faint red glow, but was only visible on long-exposure photographs for most of the night.
