From the Tunisian skies, the comet 103P/Hartley, a fleeting star in our solar system, offers a captivating celestial spectacle. Discovered in 1986 by Australian astronomer Malcolm Hartley, this periodic comet follows an elliptical orbit around the Sun, with a perihelion at approximately 1.06 astronomical units (AU). Tunisians were fortunate to witness this comet during its 2010 passage, a period when it became exceptionally bright. With an active nucleus and a trail of dust, comet 103P/Hartley illuminated the Tunisian night skies, reminding us of the transient beauty of the celestial objects that surround us.
