A female Common/Eurasian Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) perched at the edge of the Mere at my local Nature Reserve in the Cambridgeshire Fens, England. Male and female Common Kingfishers have the same plumage colours but the female has a distinctive strip of orange/red "lipstick" on her lower beak.
