A Great Egret fishing at low tide on the river. It's very attractive and striking with its large size, all white plumage, long dark yellow orange bill and black long legs that look like stilts. Egrets eat mostly fish, but they would also eat small mammals, amphibians, reptiles. insects and aquatic crustaceans. This egret was hunting alone and when he went very close to a group of mallards (not in this photo) it's apparent that they tolerate each other which is nice to see.
