Known as the Arizona twin-spotted rattlesnake or ring-tailed sidewinder by some locals, is common here in Yuma, AZ. You can see its tracks in the upper right part of the photo, typical of a sidewinder rattlesnake. It was only about 69º at the time, so he was moving very slowly.
I spotted this one (the first I have seen since moving here) while out walking our dog. Not to worry, no dogs, humans, or snakes were injured in the encounter!
