Waning Moon, Pollux, Castor, Procyon and Venus.
Unusually clear sky at dawn on Sunday 10th September provided a beautiful display consisting of the 19% illuminated Waning Crescent Moon close to the bright Gemini Stars Pollux (closest) and Castor (further away) with brilliant Venus to the East above the red glow of another emerging volcanic sunrise. The scene includes security light illuminated plants including a Cycad and a vigorously flowering Mango tree in my garden in the foreground while the Canis Minor star Procyon shines bright in magenta tinted sky above. Recent un-seasonally warm weather is responsible for the incredibly profuse inflorescence on the Mango tree which looks set to produce a record amount of fruit this year.
