It's surprising to see a fragrant white water lily still blooming this late in the season. I was taking the picture of the lily when a western honeybee landed on it to feed on its nectar and pollen. The honeybees also serve as pollinators of the white lily. Ducks and other waterfowl eat the seeds dispersed by the plant.
