Minor adjustments for colour and contrast

Resting on Water. A fallen bougainvillea glabra inflorescence (flower cluster) comes to rest on an ornamental water feature. I like how the serene reflections and ripples on the water’s surface contrasts how the water flows down through the feature.

Bougainvillea glabra (or paperflower) is a popular ornamental plant in Hong Kong. Its eye-catching, brightly-coloured papery bracts are actually not petals, but specialized leaves, evolved to attract pollinators to tiny white flowers at the tip of each inflorescence. Here you can see the withered remains of three flowers protruding just above the water’s surface.
