Image Details:

Snowshoeing through Laurentian forest, about 100 kilometers north of Montreal, Canada. Here is a "mixed" forest: bare deciduous trees in the foreground, pine trees in the back. If one travels further North the percentage of pine trees increases, eventually becoming the Boreal forest. All part of the geologic formation known as the Canadian Shield.
