Despite the freezing cold wind, this juvenile Red-tailed Hawk was soaking up the very bright sun light. By the pale yellow eyes, and the fact that the tail feathers are not yet red, I could tell it is a first year hawk. It is amazing to know that their wingspan averages a little over four feet.
