Shooting rising Moon images during the day with infrared solves the problem of capturing landscape detail with a bright Moon. This shows a late afternoon bright Moon rising over the foothills in Tucson AZ with a Saguaro cactus well placed for the photo. Infrared yields a dark sky during the day, mutes the Moon illumination and allows the landscape to a prominent feature.
