The petroglyph figure on the left is known as Moab Man, who only occurs in the Moab region of Southeast Utah. The distinctive " ear balls " are what sets him apart from all others in the Southwest region of the US. The other figures could represent Shaman or a ceremonial gathering. There isn't a Rosetta Stone which translates the meanings of petroglyphs so most of the symbols are interpreted if not self explanatory. They usually depict: day to day life scenes such as hunting scenes, animal life, spiritual events or ceremonies and celestial events such as the 1054 AD supernova event resulting in the Crab Nebula. It was recorded throughout the southwest tribes across Utah, Nevada, AZ and probably Colorado and New Mexico. Those glyphs are quite accurate to what the eye saw. I have seen a number of them myself. A circle with a dot in it near a crescent moon is a common depiction of the event.
