The photo shows the sky over the world-famous Sugar Loaf Mountain a few minutes before sunrise, adorned with pink, purple and yellow, that hint at the presence of volcanic aerosols. Apparently, the plume, probably produced by the Tonga stratospheric eruptions, produced beautifully exotic sunrises and sunsets over Rio de Janeiro on January 26, 27 and 28.
