Image Details:

We were hiking on Santa Cruz Island in Channel Islands National Park off the coast of California. When we got to Pelican Beach, this miniature fox, endemic to the Channel Islands, came up to say hello. The fox was the size of a small housecat and sat down within a couple feet of us for about 10 minutes.
