Image of Comet Leonard taken 29 December from Wagga Wagga, Australia, at about 23:00 local (13:00 UT).
AVI Stripped with Prism to JPGs. Added in Deep Sky Stacker, Photoshop.
Taken with a dedicated camera consisting of a lens that has some spherical aberration, and a small format ZWO mono camera. This combination gives enlarged images for brighter stars and hence a sense of depth to the image. This is a stack of 256 AVI frames with hot and cold pixels removed. Total exposure is about 20 mins. Image scale is 3.8 arcsec per pixel and frame size is 1.34 x 0.88 degrees. At the tip of the comet there is a small pair, the GAIA g magnitude for the fainter is 15.0.
