This photo is not meant to be beautiful but it is rare. Taken some 15 minutes after sunset, it shows Mercury (m=-0.8) at 5° altitude and only 7.3° from the Sun, thus deeply ofuscated by the sun`s glare and still in the field of view of Soho`s Lasco C3 coronograph. I have several other photos to show to those who think that the elusive planet cannot be captured so close to the Sun.
