Clavius, one of the near-side's largest and most iconic craters located in the Moon's southern Hemisphere. It is 145 miles(231 km) across and south of another prominent crater, Tycho. NASA's flying SOFIA Observatory discovers water inside this sunlit moon crater.

Took this picture of the waxing gibbous moon at 91% illumination showing the location of the new discovery. It is amazing to see the location from Earth with a camera!
