The cloud formation compliments the dark nebulae in the Milky Way. Note the dark tendril of interstellar dust that reaches up from the Milky Way to almost touch Antares in Scorpius.
The diffraction spike from Antares at the 1:00 position is pointing at the fine globular cluster M4.
