This what the Jungle sky looks like on a transparent night during a power outage. Provided you can see stars down to +10 Mag!
This is looking NW from the Observatory, a section of sky I seldom image because of obnoxious sodium street lamps. During a power outage (which does not occur often enough for me) it's mesmerizing. The only ambient light is from a passing motorist. But I was grateful that he highlighted the trees for me (I actually waited for a vehicle to come by).
On the right side of the image you can see the Alpha Persei cluster and the Double Cluster below it. The open cluster near the centre is the magnificent M34 (the Spiral Cluster).
I think that this is the way my cat sees the night sky. She's always starring at it. But she also gets very depressed sometimes.
