I sat by the pond at our local nature reserve and watched these babies learning from their parents: Canada Goose, Mallard Duck, Hooded Merganser. Upper left: two-week-old gosling. Upper right: mallard duckling. Lower left: sweet, little merganser duckling. Bottom right: the pond on which they live. It was such a special gift to spend my lunchtime getting such up-close views of these precious young ones.
