I could sit for hours in the morning waiting for moments like this. Even though the sun was behind the eagle, and I couldn't zoom out with a fixed lens, I was thrilled to capture such a close shot of his wingspan. A Bald Eagle's wingspan can reach up to 7.5 feet, being ideal for soaring, keeping them aloft for longer periods without flapping their wings.
