I increased saturation and contrast on the image using Adobe Lightroom to more accurately resemble what I saw in real life.
I captured this image as the moon rose above the endless horizon of Lake Michigan. The ice on the lake is from a recent snow storm that dumped 5 inches of snow on Chicago and the surrounding areas. The scene was spectacular, with the golden Moon’s reflection visible between the ice chunks on the lake.
