Noctilucent Clouds, unexpected, in the same way as I first saw them in 2009, from this same location for the first time. The appearance was first confused as simply clouds. I was putting away by my Cassegrain telescope after allowing the public to observe the moon through it. I had to stop and tell others passing by that this is a rare condition. We watched it change over the next thirty minutes. I noted the email by online to see the NASA's Spaceweather was reporting many sightings, especially over Oregon.
