The largest full moon of the year took place a day or two ago. This full moon was not only the closest and largest full moon of the year. It also presented the moon’s closest encounter with Earth for all of 2013.

Jim Knapp was able to capture this magical moment over the iconic Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. ( check out Jim’s page on Facebook ). The Lincoln Memorial is a national monument in the United States which was built to honor president Abraham Lincoln.

Thanks Jim!!
