Aurora at Marshall Point Lighthouse

Our friend Mike Taylor had the following to say about capturing this image:

The awe-inspiring green and purple colors of the Northern Lights spiked up early this morning while I was shooting the Milky Way down at Marshall Point Lighthouse in Port Clyde. This photo was taken about 5 feet from the base of the tower. I really like the shadow rays of light coming from the top of the lighthouse itself.

Thank you Mike!

Marshall Point Lighthouse is one of the most photographed sites on the New England coast of the United States and also appeared in the popular movie Forrest Gump.
