Alex Reshanov came to EarthSky from Blogus Scientificus. She has been talking incessantly about plants and animals for as long as anyone can remember. While living in New York, she studied writing at Eugene Lang College and biology at Hunter College, where she worked with electric fish and never got shocked. She has since traded in the rats and pigeons of the U.S. East Coast for the reptiles and bats of Texas. She’s seen several snake and lizard species at close range, as well as one armadillo, and can now distinguish the venomous Texas coral snake from non-venomous look-alikes.
